DMQ was established in 1997 by the main UK organisations involved in deer management training. The aim was to set up an independent awarding body that could develop and award qualifications related to deer management and as such be seen as setting the standards for the deer management sector.
For the last 25 years DMQ has certified deer and feral wild boar qualifications to the deer management sector.
There are a total of 11 members of DMQ (see table below) that are all organisations involved in deer management in the UK. Each member organisation nominates a representative and most of these also sit as directors on the board.
